You can set up call forwarding through your carrier so calls to your primary mobile number can also reach your Glacier virtual number. For example, a Google Fi number can be configured so both the primary phone and the Glacier virtual number ring at the same time. Verizon offers a similar conditional forwarding option that sends calls to the Glacier virtual number when the primary number is busy or unanswered.
Carriers generally do not support text message forwarding. Number forwarding is for voice calls only; SMS/MMS sent to the carrier number will not automatically forward to the Glacier virtual number.
Verizon supports Conditional Call Forwarding, also called No Answer/Busy Transfer. Dial *71 followed by the 10-digit Glacier virtual number to forward calls when the primary number is busy or unanswered. Dial *73 to turn call forwarding off.
AT&T Wireless call forwarding must be managed from the wireless device. Availability and codes can vary by plan and line type. For AT&T phone services, no-answer forwarding and busy forwarding may use separate feature codes, so confirm the exact options for the customer account before configuring.
T-Mobile supports conditional forwarding short codes for no reply, not reachable, and busy states. Common examples include **61*1+PhoneNumber# for no reply, **62*1+PhoneNumber# for not reachable, and **67*1+PhoneNumber# for busy. Use the Glacier virtual number as the destination.
In Google Fi, open Call forwarding and choose Ring all numbers to ring the primary phone and selected forwarding numbers simultaneously. Fi also supports Always forward, where calls go directly to the selected forwarding number.
